In reply to: Blogspot Or WordPress?Well, I expected that sooner or later someone would get rude and accuse me of whining. Something else I’ve always liked about B2 is that the people on their support forum are courteous, helpful and supportive.
I switched from Blogspot years ago for exactly some of the reasons you mentioned. So far WordPress seems closer to Blogger than B2, just more complicated. B2 is fully customizable. It lets you do your own thing not just “plugin” “widgets” and choose from existing themes.
But never mind. Obviously WordPress is not for me. I know a lot of people use it and like it. I’ll keep reading and experimenting a little more to give it a fair chance and see if something clicks but I think I should look for something else or maybe just wait until my host finally gets around to updating MySQL, which, according to what I’ve been reading, is mostly likely the problem with B2.

In reply to: Blogspot Or WordPress?I don’t even know where to start. There doesn’t seem to be any way to DO anything other than just post. Okay, example: In the comments it doesn’t have seperate spaces to enter the name, email address and URL, like on almost all other blogs and I don’t see any way to fix that.
And how do you add stuff to the sidebar? Like photos, Sitemeter and stuff? I made my own template for my B2 blog. It’s rather minimalist in nature but it’s all mine. I like it. I can work with it and change things when I want to. WordPress looks a whole lot more complicated and it looks like I’ll be stuck with choosing one of the available themes. Yeah, I know, there are hundreds but none of them are mine.
Again, I’m sorry… I know I probably sound really b_tchy (and vague) but I’m really frustrated. They really push this over on the B2 message board so I thought it was going to be like B2 only better but it’s nothing like it and I won’t even be able to import my old B2 posts.

In reply to: Blogspot Or WordPress?I just installed WordPress yesterday. I know it’s a bit soon to start complaining but so far I hate it. If I can’t get my broken B2 blog fixed I’m probably going to go back to Blogspot myself. I know you’re supposed to be able to do all this great stuff with WP but how? The Docs haven’t been any help so far.
I don’t want to p__-off anyone or hurt anyone’s feelings. I’m just extremely frustrated; that’s all.
