I updated the plugin file but when trying to activate the plugin am still having the website break.

There are around 1500 reviews on the site!

The files it is looking for are present on the server and the plugin writes a blank index.php file to the cache file but nothing else.

I have wp-content/cache symlinking to uploads/cache to get around permissions issues. This should be a writable folder and no errors are being thrown in the CMS.
