In reply to: Where does the page display come from ?esmi – I know when I tried deactivating plugins when I had this problem before it made no difference.
Part of the problem is that my school’s webserver is so slow now that I cannot get into the pages within Dashboard to check anything. I will try switching theme when I can but as far as point 4 goes – this problem has been caused by deleting the wp-admin and wp-includes files from the webserver and replacing them with the newly downloaded 3.0.4 upgrade files PLUS copying and replacing the loose files in the root.
Stupidly I deleted the folders/files rather than copying elsewhere first and because i was doing this from another PC the files are lost and not in any other recycle bin.

I have not changed anything to do with themes and it’s been working OK for months. The most likely explanation is that something has been deleted. When I view page source it is blank. I have checked this out and I have <?php wp_footer(); ?> in the footer.php file. I am using Calotropis.
I have not yet upgraded WordPress to the latest version – would that make a difference?

In reply to: Registered Users Can't Post CommentsI am running Calotropis and don’t want to switch themes at the moment. I switched the site folders to the root to enable multi-site and it’s messed up all my write-permissions on the upload folder so I want to keep it simple for now.
By the way – I’m not super technical so I googled “borking” and wished I hadn’t. Not sure what you meant by borking ipstenu and Andrea_r – but my web server is DEFINITELY not doing what google said!

In reply to: Displaying Post Author in CalotropisThanks for replying itxitx. I realised I needed to upgrade Calotropis as the version I was running didn’t have this but when I hunted around your theme blog I found it. So the upgrade has happened and authors are being displayed!
Now – how can I change the author’s icon?
