In reply to: New random post widget, need feedbackTBH, I don’t think a lot of people will notice. As far as sending surfers to older posts, you’ve already got popular posts for that. You might be better off just putting another ad over there π If you want dynamic content, why not rotate through different ads on every refresh/reload?

In reply to: a new website about designNice design! I’d probably like it more if I could read Chinese, but the layout and theme are good.

In reply to: Your feedback, please!Depending on how you intend to use this site, you might want to make it a little more clear on what are actual posts vs. what are ads. Right now the posts are such a small part of the page that many surfers will probably just assume the whole page is ads. Just something to consider…

In reply to: What would you rate my site?Tag clouds are mostly for SEO, but they can also be useful for surfers, if they’re easily readable. That would be the general thing I’d say to improve w/ your blog – readability. Also think about what kind of message your theme is sending to readers.

In reply to: php for dynamic post titles/categoriesWell right now I’m using php in the body of a post to generate a post of randomly selected content.
So I need to be able to match the randomly generated post content with appropriate, corresponding title and category info, which would be simple enough if I knew where to put the code.
I see that I can make those changes in the theme files, however, this doesn’t change the actual post title, just the output the surfer sees. Although that might not matter, I’m not completely sure. Where is the post title actually generated? I was thinking in wordpress’s post.php file but I couldn’t tell, there’s so many functions in use. :/

In reply to: Help backing up filesWell it depends if the site is online yet or not. Assuming that it is:
You need to know the server name, login, and password for your web host. If you bought the hosting you should have this info. If your employee bought it you’ll have to get that from her. Then it’s just a matter of using an FTP client like WS FTP which can be downloaded free here.
Once you log on to the server just download every file from the server to your PC and you’re all set.
Hope that helps…. let me know if something is unclear.
