Once I realized this issue was caused by pagination, it was easy to find another report already open with some suggested fixes. Adding a filter to disable the pagination of the nav_menu_meta_box_object is a decent work-around. https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/18282
I’d like to second this question. I have _many_ nested pages and _many_ of them have the same name due to multiple areas having the same sub-sections with different content. It’s impossible to create menus!
