well, i THINK i fixed the problem. I had https set up so that any URl that had /events/ directory was defaulting to https. By removing that setting, and just securing individual entries within the events section that needed to be secure (ones with payment forms) i believe i’ve solved the issue. thanks!
the culprit is the plugin i thought in the first place. “wordpress https” http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-https/
now what to do . . . should i submit a ticket with them? Or is there some way to troubleshoot what exactly is interfering between the 2 plugins?
got it. great advice. i will try this tonight and post my results. thanks very much for your help.
~Lizyes, resaving the permalink settings breaks it . . . hmm, what does this mean?
Thanks!
~LizThe fix, again, was to deactivate ALL plugins, then reactivate ALL plugins. Took 5 seconds. It works again, but i don’t understand why it seems to reoccur, and why deactivating/reactivating (without leaving anything deactivated) fixes it. any ideas?
hmmm nevermind . . . this actually started happening again in october. I tried the same thing (deactivating/reactivating all plugins and resaving the permalinks) and this time it didn’t work. Any other ideas of what it might be?
Thanks!
~Lizsoooo . . . really not sure what the heck happened here. I deactivated all my plugins, then tested. it worked! so i reactivated all but ONE (secure wordpress) b/c i was suspicious that one might causing the problem. tested again, and it was workign correctly! so THEN, i just reactivated secure wordpress again . . . tested again . . . it’s working correctly!
So i didn’t really change anything. it just sort of miraculously started working. Gotta love that. Thanks for your help!
~Lizthanks for the suggestion. I just tried that and it is still doing the same thing . . . any other ideas that i might be able to try?
Thanks!
