I have another solution for you.
1. Download, install and activate “Page Links To” plugin from HERE.
2. Create new page called “Forum” (or whatever) and in the page settings below there will be additional option “Page Links To“. Click it and in “Point to this URL” fill the URL of you forum. You can also choose the link to open in the same or new window.
That’s it!
