  • Hi guys,

Just wanted to follow up on this. We’ve fixed the broken version and pushed an update live.

However for those that are currently stuck on the broken update, you have to unfortunately head to your FTP client and fix it manually. Here is a quick guide for you:

    http://cl.ly/image/053V0I120Y20

    (this is what’s in there:

Step 1. Open your FTP client

    Step 2. Go to wp-content > plugins > digg-digg

Step 3. There is one extra “digg-digg” folder that shouldn’t be there

Step 4. Move all files into the plugins/digg-digg folder

Step 5. Delete the empty “digg-digg” folder that’s left.

So sorry about the hassle guys! Hope that fixes it for you! 🙂

Hi guys, thanks so much for the heads up on this! Really appreciate your quick response to help us figure that out. With the answers above, we’ve figured out the issue and are working on a fix right now. The update should be live shortly and I’ll post another comment then. 🙂

    Hi barzrul and Ruhani,

Thanks a lot for the note. Just quickly, are you both using the very latest version of Digg Digg 5.2.4.?

Also, is there any chance you have W3 Total Cache or a similar plugin installed? This sometimes gives some errors and if you could go into the settings there and click on “empty all caches” it might be able to show up then?

Really keen to get it working for both of your sites! Ruhani, do you have it installed on your blog right now btw? Just trying to figure it out from the source code.

    Best,
    Leo

Hi Paul, Nick, Chris, Jonathan and rfcapinto,

You are absolutely right, this is definitely something that we need to get onto asap. In fact it is on our to do list for this week and we hope to have an update out on this real soon.

I couldn’t agree more that we need to make it comply with the latest standards and are keen to do so.

Please keep an eye out on the update area for the coming days.

Let me know if you ever run into any other troubles or have questions, always happy to help! 🙂

    Hi Aron,

Great to hear from you and thanks for the heads up on this.

Yes, so we have identified what the problem is here. If you just go into your Floating Bar Settings, and turn off the “email button”, then all should float normally again and also not cover the content anymore. Any chance you could try this and see if it fixes it all?

Keen to get things working well for you as soon as possible!

    Hi zechmann and lettereye,

Yes, absolutely, we are working on more easier to use customization options to build into Digg Digg. It might still be a little while, but it’s definitely high up on our list!

Please let me know if you ever have any more questions or suggestions for us! 🙂

Keen to get things working well for you as soon as possible!

    Hi Peter,
Just fired a quick email over in case there might be a chance you didn’t get the below.

Really appreciate you tried out Digg Digg again on one site of yours. You mentioned, that it wasn’t showing up at all then. Was that for individual posts or on the landing page? The thing is that we have removed the option to display the floating bar on the landing page, as it didn’t make a lot of sense to share a home page.

If there is any chance, could you let me know if the floating bar also isn’t working on the individual pages for the site you have tried it out on?

Keen to get things working well for you as soon as possible!

    Best,

PS: You guys are all amazing for letting us know about the issues, we will be iterating again and again until the plugin just works seamlessly on every blog! 🙂

    Hi Andy,

Great to hear from you and thanks a lot for the heads up on these issues. Is there any chance you could send me a screenshot of the problem and let me know which URL your site is at and which theme you are using?

I will then go and setup a wordpress blog with it on my end to replicate your bug so I can fix the issue asap in a future update.

    Thanks so much Diana,

I have just fixed this for your site. and it should all work normally now!

The problem seems to have been, that if you have W3 Total Cache or Super Cache installed and you do an update, all caches need to be emptied! 🙂

Let me know if any of you are still seeing any further problems, keen to get it all working seamlessly! 🙂

    Hi Peter, Mindy and Diana,

Sorry for the troubles and thanks so much for the details on the all the bugs, we have been trying everything to get this fixed in the latest update with 5.2.3.

Is there any chance you could update to this version and see if you are still seeing any problems?

Really want to get all bugs out of the plugin asap.

Thanks a lot for the heads up on this.

Is there any chance you could try to upgrade to the latest version 5.2.3. and see if the problem still exists? We tried to fix it in this version.

    Hi Ralf,

Great to hear from you. We just tried to fix this problem today, is there any chance you could see if it is still happening for you now with the latest 5.2.2. version?

    Hi Peter and Sunil,

Oh right, that is definitely not good. I have one thought, if you go into “floating bar settings” there should be an option at the top called “offset from side” and you can change the width the bar is away from the lefthandside. If you change the number there and make it bigger/smaller, you should be able to get the bar to show up where you want it to be! Is there any chance you could try this?

Let me know if that is working out ok for you. Could you also let me know which theme you are using at the moment? Keen to get things working well for you as soon as possible!

    Hi harruhsun,

This should now be fixed! 🙂

Please let me know if you ever have any more questions, I am always just one click away. 🙂
