In reply to: [SpeakUp! Email Petitions] "READ THE PETITION" blank boxHi BrentEades – My problem self-resolved when I updated to 3.5.1. Not sure if this was helpful, but I thought I’d share.
Thanks Vladimir. The combination of the 2 plugins (Adminize and User Role Editor) gives me exactly what I want to do. Too bad I have to use 2 plugins though.. But, thank you for the help!
I’ll keep this thread alive cause I doubt I’m alone here 🙂
Has anyone been capable of doing such a rating campaign using gd-star or am I asking for too much? 🙂
I thought that’s what the multisets were for. Can anyone recommend a plugin or share what they’re doing to accomplish the above? Thanks!
Hi Vladimir – I’ve tried each role and ran into the same thing. I’m going to look at those links and see if I have better luck.
Thanks!!
Anyone have an idea or run into this same problem?

So what do you think Milan?
Hi Milan .. I’m sure it does, I’m just not explaining it correctly 🙂
I’m trying to do the following:
1. Add a rating option on several pages
2. Display the rating results on another pageOn pages 1, 2 and 3:
page1 = rating 5
page2 = rating 4
page3 = rating 3On the results page:
Top 3
page1 *****
page2 ****
page3 ***————————————————
Another example:
On pages 1, 2 and 3:
page1 =
option#1 = rating *****
option#2 = rating ***
Option#3 = rating **page2 =
option#1 = rating ***
option#2 = rating ****
Option#3 = rating ***page3 =
option#1 = rating **
option#2 = rating **
Option#3 = rating ****On the results page:
Top 3 option#1
page1 *****
page2 ***
page3 **Top 3 option#2
page2 ****
page1 ***
page3 **Top 3 option#3
page3 ****
page2 ***
page1 **Hi edwinkwan..
I did the same thing, but no author information shows up. I have to add the custom-author attribute which then causes the info to come up twice (top/bottom).
Seems like I cannot get it to work otherwise 🙁
Thanks for the help! Really appreciate it!
Hi edwinkwan thanks for that.
A few things I noticed:
1. I cannot use the shortcode if I only create the custom author without the user being a real WP user. Nothing shows up.2. I cannot use the shortcode unless #1 is resolved and unless I set the custom-author custom field on the page. But this creates double custom author boxes – 1 where I use the shortcode and the other at the bottom of the post.
Hi one more thing – it seems like I can’t add users anymore. I receive the error: Error Adding Custom Author! anytime I try to create a user.
Hey edwinkwan Thanks for the new version. I just installed it. Works OK, but I’m unable to add the _just_ the shortcode to a page to display author information. Seems I have to add the custom field in order to use the shortcode. I’m sort of OK with this, but if I have to use the custom field, then it’d be great to have an option to have the author info at the top or the bottom of a post/page. I was hoping to use the shortcode wherever I liked cause It wouldn’t confine me to a specific static position.
I know you may have worked hard on this new release, but what do you think about my dilemma? For now, I can deal with this 🙂
Thanks again for your diligence and hard work on this plugin 🙂
edwinkwan Any luck on getting this into the new release soon?
Hey edwinkwan – Glad to know I’m not the one going crazy 🙂
I could get it to work on posts, but not pages..
Any idea how I can make this work in the meantime while we wait for the next release?
Thanks again!
