Maybe I should remove the meta description tag, as it is not relevant to the article?

Can you elaborate a bit, sorry for being dense here?
I dont mind the blog name in each post, I put it that way. The is_home variable is nice, and I will add that in, but it still does not explain how you get google to pick up on more of my blog for its sub description. All my links in google are the same, other than the title changes. generally, google will snip a sentence from the actual article, but it is not doing that in my case.
Yeah, I have tried several methods, none of which work, feel free to test them out yourself as well.
