In reply to: [Custom Community] Header doesn't display correctlySwitching back to a different theme again.
Either the theme upgrade is not yet available (I did not receive an upgrade notice from my dashboard) or it’s still broken.

In reply to: [Custom Community] Header doesn't display correctlySo upset. Set up my site end December using Custom Community 2.0 theme. Loved it. Turned my attention to other things. Went there today (getting ready to go to networking event tonight) and the header image isn’t displaying, nor the menu. Site completely broken. http://wgmarcom.com/
I’ve been 2 hours now trying to fix it and nothing works.
This is the site on my LinkedIn profile. It’s embarrassing that prospective clients are seeing a site that is broken and unusable.
And I put so much time into something that was apparently unstable.
I’ve been using WordPress for years now, and have never ever encountered anything like this before. Very bummed 🙁

In reply to: OK WP gurus! Possible to make custom field images linkable?The value for featuredpageimage is the url pointing to the image.
Maybe my question isn’t clear.
I can configure custom fields to point to images on my server — no problem with that.
What I’d like is for the image, when it displays on my page, to serve as an image link to third site. Put another way, I want the featuredpageimage value to behave as if it were
<a href="URL_OF_OTHER_SITE_HERE"><img src="URL_OF_MY_IMAGE_HERE"></a>I’ve tried using that code as the custom field value. Doesn’t seem to work.

In reply to: OK WP gurus! Possible to make custom field images linkable?In fact, I can’t even set my value to be a link. Is that a limitation of WP custom fields or have I mucked my code somewhere else, I wonder . . .

In reply to: OK WP gurus! Possible to make custom field images linkable?Do you mean in the value field of the WP dashboard where I’ve created my page?
I.e. use an <a href, img src code in the featuredpageimage value field?
I’ve tried that — it doesn’t seem to work.
(sorry for the double post, wanted to be clear which code I was using)

In reply to: Branford magazine featured page font color — custom field questionOkay, I did a workaround. I defined a new headline style as h9 and used it to set the style of featuredpageheadline and the_title. Why tmpl_featured-page.php can call that style when it displays those two custom fields when it couldn’t display h2 properly is beyond me, but I’m satisfied & hope this can maybe help someone else.

In reply to: Magazine Basic — how to customize pages list in sidebar?I’ve isolated another clue on this — would welcome any ideas about what to try next!
The color of the page lists displayed in the Pages sidebar widget is 205B87.
So I did a search of that in the code and found it in two places in style.css — here:
a {
text-decoration: none;
outline: none;
color: #205B87;
}and here:
ol.commentlist li div.comment-meta a { color:#205B87; text-decoration:none; }
So I thought, okay. I’ll comment out the first one and set the color at black.
a {
text-decoration: none;
outline: none;
// color: #205B87;//
color: 000000;
}I reloaded the blog page — and in IE — there is no change.
But — in Firefox SOME of the page names listed in the sidebar are still displayed in that light blue #205B87 — and others are now displayed as PURPLE? #800080????
That’s not a color I set anywhere, and when I do a text search on the theme files it doesn’t show up.
The pages being displayed as purple are pages for which I have designated other pages as child pages.
What I want to do is control the look of the child pages in the list . . .
Also obviously I want to make it consistent in FF & IE. Any idea why IE would render this differently?
I’m going to keep sleuthing but if anyone has any ideas of where I could look, I’d be very appreciative!
Here’s my style.css code as it stands right now. Pretty much the default magazine basic file except some font settings and I put in some borders & a background.
(Could the background be doing something to a font color? LOL):

Why my user name doesn’t exist in the wordpress database is still beyond my comprehension however. Dog knows it has to be in there SOMEWHERE.
