The same happened to me few days ago. I upgraded from 2.13 to 2.2 and then things started to go weird utill my host decided to suspended the account completely… aaaah!
They are asking me if i would like to switch to a different content management engine, because the WP is taking too many resources… This sounds very unpleasant. I dont use any stats plugins, what else could this be?

you should check the settings with your host provider. I am running completely 2 identical setups on different servers, and one of them is giving me hard times regarging not only the coolplayer but some other plugins as well. I realised that the problem was the list of restrictions on the hosting server (like firewalls and God knows else what kind of other restricions…).
Checking out with them might help.
