    Pasting this code into the bottom of the wp-config helped me to be able to upload images again:

    define (‘WP_TEMP_DIR’,ABSPATH.’wp-content/uploads/’);

    But it still does not allow me to update/install any plugins. I attempted to change permissions, although I’m not sure what they should be set at in order for the plugins to work. The changes that I’ve tried so far, are to no avail.

    I changed the web user permissions to readable, writeable, and executable (already selected) in the plugin file. Then tried to update a plugin, and still get the following error:

    An error occurred while updating Contact Form Plugin: Download failed. Could not open handle for fopen() to /var/chroot/home/content/92/9332792/tmp/contact-form-plugin.tmp.

    Whatever the problem is also affecting my access to my site via iPhone app. The last few days whenever I’m on the app, I cannot access anything, but instead I get the message:

    “Couldn’t sync. Blog returned invalid data.”

    I just discovered that I also cannot upload media. Not sure if it is unrelated, but I get an error message:

    “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

    Was able to upgrade from my Godaddy account, and have been doing it that way each time. Thanks.

    Thanks for your help.

    I only restored the wp-includes folder so that I could access my dashboard. I wasn’t aware of another option, and I saw that suggestion on here. And restoring it was how I found where the problem folder was, as I had no idea where to start.

    Is this something that should be done during a less traffic time, I assume? My original installation was a “one-click” job via my host, so I’ve never done a fresh installation before.

    Quite frankly, it scares me.

    Thanks again.

    Hate to bump my own topic, but after 4 days, posts are solidly buried, and I don’t want to hijack another post. Can anyone explain to me what I should do?

    I’m not the most tech-y person, so I’ve just been avoiding the upgrade.

    Thanks
