Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Custom posty type (Breadcrumbs)I had the same problem as you, and i seemed to figure out a solution. I had Case Studies as posts that feed to a page. but the breadcrumbs directed back to the talcoturbines.com/categories/case-studies
I downloaded the Quick page/post plugin and 301 redirected the Categories/case-studies to the Case Study PAGE. Since Google does not like duplicate content, i put the Case Study page URL as the cannonical link on the case studies category page so google knows that is my preferred page to crawl.
Hope this helps!
P.S. Of course this should be a temporary fix until Yoast can resolve the issue, as it appears a great number of people are dealing with this same hiccup.
Hi,
I am having a similar issue with case studies as posts being displayed on a page. When i click on a case study title, the path is:
Home » Case Studies » Turbine Provides Savings and Education to South Elementary as seen here: http://talcoturbines.com/turbine-provides-savings-and-education-to-south-elementary/The problem is, when you click on “case studies” it takes you NOT to the page, but displays the posts as categories (and not the page). I added the code to the casestudiespage.php template.
Any luck finding a solution?
Hi Matt. Thanks for a quick reply.
Its a shame that the plugin cant read within the shortcodes, seems like a major flaw with the programming. However, im glad to hear search engines still appear to read them as i also use the shortcodes frequently. Thanks again!

Hi Mackenzie 108-
Did you get this issue resolved? i am having the same issue with my seo plugin not reading content inside the shortcodes. I am also wondering if search engines will have a problem, or if its just a flaw of the plugin. Thanks for any insight you may offer.
