In reply to: 19K files normal?I had checked the original wp file count which is close to 3k.
I now checked the plugins folder and there are 2 K there. so then all add up…
but regardless, if I were to manually search for malicious files where would they be and for what?
hacks were years ago. wordfence is also already installed since several years. and it says site is good.
i still have some bad stuff in my database though i know it. but my site works fine. can that spam code in my database be doing something without me knowing? can it be something wordfence is not seeing?

In reply to: 19K files normal?I checked the folder you mentioned and yes you are right 14K files are just from that folder…. and yes wordpress created a lot of different size photos for the photos i uploaded. why so much different sizes? can I get rid of most of them?
and the remaining 5K files seems normal number right?

I cannot even see that. It says add picture from url. Well my screenshot happens to be in my computer i did not make a website url for my screenshot. this editor is extremely counterintuitive

In reply to: Error when updating to latest versionI did what you told me and uploaded wp-includes and the site started working. Then I tried to login to admin cp and that still didn’t show up so this time I uploaded wp-admin folder and now that works too. Thanks very much !
Now in the admin cp it says : “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.” I should just ignore this message and this will disappear by itself later correct?
Also just for my learning… this means during a wordpress update nothing is done to database correct? Because we did not do anything to database in this exercise….

so this line 237 , i open wp-settings.php right under main folder, and look at line 237 and see something like
require ABSPATH . WPINC . ‘/html-api/class-wp-html-attribute-token.php’;
so what should I do now?

In reply to: Error when updating to latest versionOkay I checked the version in the public html folder (in other words my hosting) and checked the version.php file. and it still says 6.1.3. Regardless I uploaded the html-api folder and all its contents. And this time, instead of the 4 lines as I pasted above, the error log had hundreds of errors, Then I removed the html-api folder and refreshed the site but altghough the debug log was supposed to return to what I pasted above, it continues having hundreds of errors

I checked the wp version of my site from its backup, the version before I tried to upgrade to latest version. It was 6.1.3. And in 6.1.3 no such file., Or by saying “your wp version” you meant the version I am trying to upgrade to? Well obviously that would be the latest version. That confused me

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Three] How to reudce whitespace above logoadding zero padding to top is not what I want. that only moves up the menu. menu must stay. only the logo must move up. in that useless white space there is this field for the page title i had deleted. i cannot get rid of that empty field. if i did that would also reduce the white are and solve the problem. i guess i must do it by adding code. where and what?

all I want is to reduce the un-used white area between the logo and the menu above. in other words, as i said, reduce the vertical distance between top of logo and bottom of the menu. so the menu stays as it is. just the logo moves up a little. that is all. so that the useless white area above the logo is smaller.
