Hi Greg, Good news. Everything works now, but I didn’t need the patch afterall. The problem turned out to be that I made a mistake. The code all works fine without the patch you sent me.

    RESOLUTION:
Problem was I forgot to put a checkmark in “Feature this ad – it will be styled differently and sticky”. Once I put in a checkmark into “Feature this ad…” It all worked perfectly on two different websites. I have three websites and on this one, I just missed that step.

I will elaborate for the benefit of anyone else that runs into this problem.

The setting I refer to can be found under…

    Classifieds/Options/Payments/Pricing/

When creating an “Advert Renewal”, You must select…
“Feature this ad - it will be styled differently and sticky.”

The optional checkbox is at the bottom of this form with the option for…
“Feature this ad - it will be styled differently and sticky.”

I simply did not have a checkmark in it.

    EXTRA INFO
I think the patch you wrote for me is not needed after all. Featured ad renewals work without it. I am very sorry I missed that in the first place. I am always grateful for your time and attention!

    Hey Greg!

    Q. what payments method are you using? The Payments Module or the WooCommerce Integration?

    A. I am using your WPA payments module/ and gateways for the payment method. I do not use WooCommerce on this website.

    Q. Also is the renewal product you are using marked as featured as well?

    A. This problem occurs in either instance:

When a featured product ad expires…the author renews their ad and pays the fee to feature. The product appears in the for sale list, but it does NOT have the feature color and is not sticky to top of list.

Also, if you start with a standard ad (not a featured ad) that has expired, but this time author wants to upgrade the ad to a featured ad during renewal, the ad appears in list but DOES NOT have the featured color and is not sticky to top, even though they have successfully paid.

It seems like the problem is…during renewal, the featured ad code does not apply the feature color and sticky-to-top.

    Thanks for your assistance!

Okay, everything works as expected now!

The Temp Fix was to create REGISTER page in WordPress, and apply the shortcode, [adverts_author_register]

Permanent fix was the PHP file Greg sent me. After uploading that file to WPAdverts/includes, all new users/authors could then register via my preferred method – via Seller Dashboard page, which contains [adverts_author_manage]…AND save changes to their public profile.

Although [adverts_author_manage] allows new users/authors to register, their profile saves would not actually save as stated in my original post. It all works now thank to this code.

Thanks for solving this for me Greg! You are a true professional and I appreciate the hard work you do.
