Thanks! Turned out it was a permission error.
This page helped a lot – https://deliciousbrains.com/wp-offload-media/doc/amazon-s3-bucket-object-ownership/#acls
I was following another page that did not mention enabling the ACL’s, nor providing the GetBucketOwnershipControls and PutBucketOwnershipControls. Once I did that it worked!

In reply to: RSS Feed cleans special characters in Title, but not postsI believe once you change it manually, edit wp_config, it greys it out.

In reply to: RSS Feed cleans special characters in Title, but not postsThat is interesting:
If you click the “RSS” from my blog, it blows up. That is what I am attempting to fix.
The problem is I can’t change the url to put in the “& a m p ;” it is greyed out in settings, and when I change the wp-admin file everything breaks, including the blog itself.

In reply to: RSS Feed cleans special characters in Title, but not postsIf you look at the code pasted above – the first line where it “had” an ampersand in the link to the home page of the blog, line 13 and 14, it recodes the ampersand. (might have to look at source)
It “breaks” on line 23, because it does not recode the ampersand for the blog post title link.
You may have to run the link verification yourself, as I believe it recoded it for the above, but if you look at the source, you will see what I mean.
There is obviously a function of some type being run on the blog hom page link, that is not being run on the blog post link.

In reply to: RSS Feed cleans special characters in Title, but not postsThey say it is not “search engine friendly”, but the truth is otherwise –
try searching for M&A, and then M and A, or mergers & acquisitions and Mergers and acquisitions. Ampersands do seem to rank higher. But to your point, if it is this much a hassle, it is probably not worth it.
The interesting thing about wordpress is that it formats it correctly when it is formatting the link to the blog home page, but not when it showing the link to the individual blog posts.
Where would I put the [NE} if I was to use that?

In reply to: RSS Errorsorry I did not apply the code correctly, the first is:
12.
How to Sell a Business
13.
14.
15.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Strategies to help with your business for sale
16.
The second part – which causes an error is:
22.
Things to Know when Selling a Business
23.
24.
25.
26.
27.
Do's and Don'ts of Business Sales
28.
Business Broker
29.
CT
30. 31.
I can’t seem to keep it from reformatting – the first has the code for the ampersand, the second link has the actual ampersand.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: RSS ErrorI am having an issue with an ampersand, and I belive the plugin will not help.
the blog feed url is:
http://www.princetoncapitalllc.com/business-opportunity-business-brokers-M&A-blog/feed/I ran it through the feed validator, and the source has errors. The interesting thing is formats the link to the blog correctly:
`12.
How to Sell a Business

13.

14.

15.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Strategies to help with your business for sale

16.
but not the url for the actual post:
22.
Things to Know when Selling a Business

23.

24.

25.
Therefore it blows up when it hits the ampersand in the actual blog link url, but it gets through the blog title url.
Is there a way for me to fix this by applying the formatting that it does for the blog title URL to the blog comment URL?
Thanks!
Ken

In reply to: RSS feed not ValidatingI might have done that once, but that could not effect the comments, right? The comments are not working either.
I believe it is a problem with the ampersand – it should be “&” and I believe it is just “&” in the code.
Is there any way to do a automatic replace of some type?

In reply to: Header Overlapping the body on home pageI changed the navigation to “pages”, saved that, changed it to “links”, saved that, and changed it back to categories.
It appears to have fixed itself.Forum: Fixing WordPress
