Thanks for the help finding xmlrpc.php. That got pingbacks working.
Follow-up question: when I send a pingback, the text in the pinged blog’s comment section starts with the end of my tagline, rather than the title of the post. Can anyone tell me where I can edit the message that pingback sends?

Been following this thread because I’ve been having problems with trackback and pingback since starting a WordPress blog a couple of weeks ago. I don’t have xmlrpc.php, either. If this is the problem, what’s the fix? Thanks.
