In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] NOTICE: Enhanced Viewer UnavailableManish, I think the one sentence replies are not helping to address the issue. Here’s the situation so far:
In testing the problem you originally reported, I was able to reproduce it and determined that it was a problem with the
cache=0option in the shortcode when used with secure documents. This is a bug that seems to be fixed in GDE 2.5.7 (not released publicly yet).In GDE 2.5.6, this issue still exists, so I would expect you to see the error messages still if you are using Secure Documents (such as with the “max-document-security” profile). However if you’re not using that feature, either the Standard or Enhanced viewers work normally for me in GDE 2.5.6 with
cache=0removed from the shortcode. In version 2.5.7, thecache=0option is ignored for Secure Documents, so I don’t see the error anymore under any circumstances. If you’re running 2.5.6 and NOT using secure documents and still seeing the error, can you please set it up so that I can see a page where the error is displaying? I know you stated the site is local but if I can’t see it, it’s very hard to fix it.
If you’re running 2.5.6 and you ARE using secure documents, I don’t expect it to work. I can send you the test version of 2.5.7 via email and that should resolve the issue, or you can wait for 2.5.7 to be generally released.
Let me know if you have any more questions. I appreciate your help in pointing out the original issue as it did reveal a bug that I needed to fix. Thanks!

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] NOTICE: Enhanced Viewer UnavailableI’ve updated my test link above to use the Enhanced Viewer. It still works fine.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] NOTICE: Enhanced Viewer UnavailableI could see the problem with cache=0 in the shortcode, but the one you posted above works fine for me.

The save=0 may be redundant (if download links are turned off in the profile) but doesn’t cause any harm. I can view the file normally using the shortcode you last sent.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] NOTICE: Enhanced Viewer UnavailableManish,
Wow, I was really not understanding the issue. Too early in the morning maybe? Thanks for your patience.
I see the problem, and it has to do with using the
cache="0"attribute in your shortcode. If you remove this it seems to fix the problem you’re seeing. That option should work, so I need to fix it. But please confirm that removing
cache="0"from the shortcode resolves it for you.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] NOTICE: Enhanced Viewer UnavailableSorry for misunderstanding. There appears to be a problem with the “max doc security” profile due to changes on Google’s end. This is not something you’re doing wrong. I’ll try to find a solution for this and get back to you.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] NOTICE: Enhanced Viewer Unavailablemanish,
You’re correct; GDE’s “enhanced viewer” is a layer on top of the standard Google Viewer, and GDE only works within WordPress.
Regarding your link problem, please see the first note in the FAQ. It’s fine for your site to be on your local system, but the document itself must be somewhere on the public internet (even if that location is unpublished), otherwise Google can’t fetch it for conversion.
Please see my reply in your other thread on this topic.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] NOTICE: Enhanced Viewer Unavailable1) I would need more details about your specific document to answer this question. Feel free to provide here or use the Support tab in GDE Settings.
2) Yes, but not via GDE and only the “standard viewer.” Use the service at http://docs.google.com/viewer to generate the appropriate links.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Embed this book to your siteNot sure I understand. You can just paste that code as it is and you don’t need to use GDE at all for this function.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] How to get color back in googledocembedded pdf's ?Mike,
This is an outage in Google Viewer, which GDE embeds. I’ve been trying to pursue a fix or answer in the Google Drive forums but typically Google is nonresponsive. If you have any contacts that might further that discovery I’d strongly encourage it.
GDE embeds the viewer service found here:
While it doesn’t work here, it won’t work in GDE, either.
Hopefully a fix is forthcoming.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] WP Visual Editor not working since installing GDEMMolnar, if something is wrong with your site without my plugin active, I don’t know what I can do to help. GDE doesn’t change any core wordpress files, themes, or anything else outside of itself. If you uninstalled the plugin, it didn’t leave anything in its own database tables either.
If your editor isn’t working in this case the cause has to be something other. Sorry.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Pictures look bad ?GDE uses Google Viewer to generate document views. You can experiment with different ways of creating the PDF that produce better results, but you’re right, it’s not a high resolution service by any means.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] index.php not foundHi,
Your link was apparently lost, so I’m still lost. However I can tell you that the GDE editor button you’re referencing calls a file called lib-eddialog.php, not index.php. I can’t reproduce this problem. Might be another plugin conflicting, or a messed up install? Must confess I can only guess.
