I got this error when i was using a custom php script to change a filed i was importing to another value. Long story short I was just missing a ; in my php script.
This was giving me an all white screen on every page.
Well there is probably a custom field for the featured setting that you theme uses. You will need to find that and set the value for if you want your imported posts to be featured or not.
