We are working on this for our upcoming release. I am planing to have it out next week at least an early version that will support custom templates. We are also adding multi column support to the default template.

Could you try sending a test from the sending account page under settings. It seems like their is something going wrong and testing from the sending account page will show the errors.

The Widget form is run by the signup shortcode. You can find the code in /classes/sc/class-sendpress-sc-signup.php

We provide automatic sending of new posts to subscribers in our Pro version. Their is not anything in the free version that will send an email automatically everyday. Is sending new posts something you are trying to do or are you trying to send something else to your subscribers everyday?
