Thanks for your message thats almost worked i just need to get the header to go full size and cant find what i need to change.

im trying to create a full page template for the content pages not the front page but im kinda getting my self confused. I have copyed the page.php file to my child theme folder and renamed it fullwidth.php and have taken out the sidebar section but i need to make the page wider i belive (im getting this from http://millionclues.com/wordpress-tips/make-full-width-page-in-wordpress/ and from http://wordpress.org/support/topic/full-width-page-creating-your-own-page-templates?replies=2 )
but i kand find the div id.Hope that helps
