Never tested it, but:
Try to set-up an SMS service to an e-mail adres and forward this to your wordpress publishing e-mail adres.
Create you own powerfull Author profile page with the UserExtra plugin (wp-plugins.net/plugin/userextra/).
Create fields to be filled-in-the-blanks by the User (name, profile, age, picturelink, etc) and format this information in a author.php page.
