I installed v1.5.3 tonight, and, like chpalatinus, I got this error message:
“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the index.php file.
Theme install failed.”
I’ve uninstalled and cannot reinstall, no matter what I try.
In my desperation, I was hoping for magic, and something like that happened. When I logged in a day or two later, all the comments were there again. Basically, they disappeared for about three days and then, one Monday morning, came back. Maybe it was a WordPress issue that got solved somehow, but I have no clue. All technological problems should resolve so easily!
I’m having exactly this same problem. I was having a different problem (with logging in) a few days back, and once I fixed that, I logged in and deleted two Spam comments from my trash. When next I visited my blog, ALL of my thousands of comments were gone, and now no one can leave a comment at all. Like genmay, I’ve tried deactivating all my plug-ins, but it doesn’t help.
