I have the same problem. Using WordPress 2.1.2 with wpPHPMAiler plugin for sending email via SMTP.
It does not send email when a comment goes into the moderation list. But if I approve the comment an email is sent. “E-mail me whenever A comment is held for moderation” is ticked.
Any body manage to fix this?
