Even though it was obviously slot gaming related I did not know your angle until I clicked around quite a bit. Once I figured out what the site was targeting I found it very informative yet confusing/overwhelming for a casual casino goer such as myself.

That being said… The background image must be toned down, when I read the content my eyes are being pulled in opposite directions trying to focus on the background.
I think if you just adjust the overall lightness of your background image you would be better off 🙂

Forums can attract a group of people and encourage visitors to chat together, but blog comments also do the same thing. If you are not getting frequent comments don’t expect a forum to pick up the pace by its own. you might consider researching SEO topics and seeing what can be applied to your site.

You might consider a favicon too.
The overall font size looks a bit small.
You should remove the part at the bottom of your site about the bad behavior script.
The search results are confusing. Maybe consider some search term highlighting.

In reply to: First WordPress site dedicated to singingThe issue was actually in firefox but it was due to FlashBlock addon. Once I enabled flash on your site everything looked ok. You might want to check it out though, because it really threw a few things out of place.

In reply to: Requesting Feedback. 1st WP site, original theme.Thanks for the browse! The images are stock right now, but once we start pouring our own recipes into the system we will definitely aim for professional looking pictures taken ourselves.
The current release of Recipe Press plugin does not work with the built in search so I will have to wait for further development from the plugin on that, otherwise I may look into some “Search Everything” plugins I have seen in the WP plugin gallery and see if those pick up the recipes.
Great idea about making the featured recipe clickable. As you found, the comments and facebook share button only appear on the actual recipe page.

NSFWAlso not safe for eyes, sorry but your page reeks of something straight out of Geocities. Reconsider your layout, your site would benefit from a multi column layout. Also you really need to change the colors and graphics used.

The content on your front page gives an idea of your overall goal of the site. You might try and put more emphasis on the “what does slurd mean” image, it sort of just blends in to the design and that is an important page for your viewers. You might consider a short intro blurb before your posts and incorporate your “what does slurd mean” link there.
