I’m sorry to say that I never did work it out.
I got around it by choosing a combination of plugins that displayed the icons in the order that I wanted them.

I am having the same problem, using the Twenty Ten theme and a child theme… my check box is missing on the individual pages.
I have tried turning off all the plugins and loading new pages, but the option is still not there. In previous sites that I created the checkbox option was always there, so I’m very confused!Normally this is such a simple thing, it’s very frustrating!
Any suggestions are very welcome. Thank you!
Resolved with the new update.
This is working for me now, it seems that the image was cached somewhere.
Hope you get it sorted ok.
