So I’m finding that if I switch to the “Text” view and copy/paste that text out into a text editor, what I’m seeing is not two space characters but a space and non-breaking space character (indistinguishable from a space character in the “Text” view).

Also learned that I can type a non-breaking space on my mac by holding down the option key then tapping the space bar.

I’m also noticing that entering multiple spaces in the “Visual” mode results in alternating space and non-breaking space characters.

OK, that was seriously weird. I removed the VFB code from the page…the page was completely empty (in both the “Visual” and the “text” (html) view) yet the second form persisted. I deleted the page, created a new one and all was normal. Have no idea what that was all about. Must be related to the template I’m using. Thanks for your time.

I’m having a similar problem. I’m brand new to WordPress so I may just be doing something dumb.

In the HTML view I enter paragraph tags…

    <p>Hello World</p>

When I switch to the Visualizer view and then back to HTML the paragraph tags are gone.

    Hello World

Not sure what version of WordPress I have (just installed it at GoDaddy so it’s probably very recent).

I switched from the twenty eleven back to the twenty ten theme and it didn’t help. Not sure how to disable add-ons. Any help would be much appreciated….it’s very frustrating not being able to create my first page!
