In reply to: [GEO my WP] Automatic User LocationDidn’t seem to work with the widget. My attempts to “get location” resulted in endless spinner.
thank you for your time with this, but if it requires user input, it’s the same that I have currently. I’ll just leave it as is and continue trying to debug my plugin. I have to learn how to use ajax, but I think WordPress is making this harder than usual. 🙂

In reply to: [GEO my WP] Automatic User LocationEyal,
Well I’m back…
Is there any way I can try your filter solution?
I have a script I am working on but it’s taking me longer than I expected. Debugging the ajax is frustrating me, I have something that should work but it’s not, and I haven’t even added the automation.
Can you help a guy out? 🙂
Thank you,
Jamie

I am writing a simple plugin to write the lat lon to user meta. Dont sweat the filter.
Thanks again!

In reply to: [GEO my WP] Automatic User LocationThat is indeed what I am trying to do. I would be interested to see what you hook into and the filter. In the meantime, I will take a look at the current location widget/shortcode you reference. Not sure what that is.
Thank you for the reply.

In reply to: [GEO my WP] Automatic User LocationIt appears you store the geo data as cookies, so nothing is written to WP user meta. Is that true?

i am 100% content to not use jetpack. it was an experiment. everything is fine without it.
did get an error trying to connect jetpack as part of troubleshooting.
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/krz/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wc-vendors-gateway-stripe-connect/classes/lib/StripeOAuth.class.php on line 259
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wc_add_notice() in /home/krz/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wc-vendors-gateway-stripe-connect/gateway-stripe.php on line 160
food for thought.
thank again guys all is well. i will be forwarding these errors to the guys at wc-vendors.

i dont think the error codes get logged, the script freezes perhaps not allowing those errors to fire.
ill look again.
I can get the three discussed plugins to work by disabling Woof – Woocommerce Product filters and bestwebsoft contact form.
If either of those is active while Jetpack is active, the server test hangs.
Very interesting.
I am curious what your thoughts are. I do not know how the SMTP Postman test the ports, but just seems unrelated to these plugins – especially woof.
Thanks again,
jamie
does the connectivity test complete with all plugins active?
if so i will continue the troubleshooting process to find true culprit.
thank you
jamie
Nothing Jason.
Interesting!
With woocommerce booster enabled, I disabled JetPack from Automattic and the mail services worked.
I only used jetpack for the site tracking. It was more of test and I can live without jetpack easily!
I think we are in business, however if you want me to test jetpack to see what module may be causing a problem, let me know. (I actually disabled most everything in jetpack as part of the troubleshooting of this issue.)
Thank you both for your superb attention to this situation.
Kudos,
Jamie
