In reply to: Dashboard not working properly wordpress 3.3.2One of the first things I would start with are the plugins.
Deactivate all of them via the Dashboard, or rename the plugin directory via FTP. Then reactivate one by one to see which plugin recreates the problem.

In reply to: adding another siteFor this, I would enable WordPress Network (One login but different Dashboards)
http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network
Then, after setting up a sub-site, I’d use Domain Mapping Tool to add domains on the fly

Hope this helps π

In reply to: Missing Home PageYou may have to contact your hosting provider as it has to do with the Apache configuration.
Hope this helps.

In reply to: Remove border from image linksPersonally, I would specify which version of IE in your ‘if’ tag, like this:
<!--[if IE 6]><![endif]--> <!--[if IE 7]><![endif]--> <!--[if IE 8]><![endif]--> <!--[if !(IE 6) | !(IE 7) | !(IE 8) ]><!--<![endif]-->This particular snippet allows you to specify the versions of IE that we find annoying. The last line is anything but versions 6,7, or 8 so the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and IE9 (and up) will pick that up.
Also, any CSS you add, let’s say, to the header.php of your theme, make sure it is added after the ‘style.css’ file.

In reply to: Remove border from image links@usubba, I wouldn’t recommend that method, I’ll explain why:
The original post asked for “all images” not just one or a few. When you’re dealing with a site-wide specification like that, it’s best to add your code to the theme itself either in the style.css file or one of the template files.
The approach
style="text-decoration:none; cursor:pointer;is good for one or two elements that require that one style.Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: wrong thumbnails everywhereYou want to become familiar with “Open Graph Protocol” which will address these concerns.
Basically, you can homogenize your content through the social networks. This would include images that you want to appear on the links, etc.
I hope this helps π

In reply to: Widgets problem at appearanceFirst thing I noticed: you have a plugin causing problems. Second thing I noticed is that you have 10 plugin updates pending. Please update your plugins and verify that the problem still repeats itself.
I hope this helps π

In reply to: Remove border from image linksI would add a little bit of CSS to the end of your style.css file. It would go something like this:
a img { border:0; }This tells the browser that any image nested within an anchor will have a border of 0px.

In reply to: Tables are not found in my databaseWhat I would do is create a new username, password and database, THEN, import the tables to the new database via phpMyAdmin.
Then, I would make sure that the database prefix and credentials are updated in the wp-config.php file.
Hope this helps.

In reply to: How can I run php files on a wordpress site?I would suggest the contact form feature in JetPack by Automattic. You can send mail via form and it’s saved in the database. I use it on production Websites and I’m happy with it. Oh, and it’s free to use.
Each form plugin has its own upside/downside depending on who wrote the script and what their specifications are and if it works for you.
If you still plan to write your own script: I’d suggest to write it in a plugin. Advantages: WordPress is happy with plugins but not too happy with outside scripts. I think the DEVs set this up as a security feature so that some scripts wouldn’t wreak havoc on your site and leave it vulnerable to attack.
Wish I could be more of a help, best wishes.

In reply to: SSL'ed my WP site; problem with MenusIssue resolved; it’s due to the plugin that I’m using for the site. It forces non-SSL URLs if the option isn’t enabled within posts and pages.
