That is a hard task. I had to switch my sites just a few days ago between two sites 葬儀 <-> 2.nd site. You should redirect all old pages to its new link with a 301 redirect. Thus, you have each one of those site on both places just that one copy only redirects. You should keep that for at least three weeks… keeping redirecting bots to the new site!
I have used jquery for that task for more than 3 years. Take a look at my example of an accordion menu written in jquery here 葬儀. Very simple to implement!
