In reply to: Dashboard is gone with 3.4.2 upgradeYes! Thanks so much for posting. I had this same issue and was locked out of my WP dashboard. I logged into GoDaddy, installed the patch (was on pins and needles while it took and hour to be installed! ) and GoDaddy’s patch fixed the site. So I am now successfully updated to WP 3.4.2.

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] NextGen gallery pages linking broken ?Yaay!! I’ve fixed my site!
I called my host and had them move my site to a Linux server. I was on Windows. Cleared it right up. They said that WordPress was happier on a Linux server. That also solved a funny issue I had with not being able to search my posts in the backend of the site.

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Broken “next page” links in NexGEN GalleryI did a test and installed another copy of WP on a folder on the server. And it did the same thing, so my root directory idea is bad. I’m thinking may it has to do with a setting on my server? I have a windows server from GoDaddy that they supposedly recommended to me because it was compatible with WP. It has the following settings:
Windows
Hosting Type: Shared Hosting
.Net Runtime Version: ASP.Net 2.0/3.0/3.5
PHP Version: PHP 5.x
IIS Version: IIS 7.0My blog that works has these settings:
Linux
Hosting Type: Shared Hosting
Hosting Configuration: 2.1
PHP Version: PHP 4.xAny ideas about what I should try next?

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Broken “next page” links in NexGEN GalleryThanks for your reply!
Here’s a link to my personal page, with the links functioning as they should:
http://jamiesdesigns.com/wordpress/?p=483And here is a link to a multipage gallery on the problem site:
http://balartists.com/?p=604You can see that the “next” and “page 2” links at the bottom of the gallery just take you back to the blogroll. However, on the admin side, the “next page” links just hang and never load – makes managing large amounts of galleries or images nearly impossible. Email me at jamiesdesigns@yahoo.com if you would like to take a look at the backend of the site. I’d love to hear any ideas, and thanks!

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] NextGen gallery pages linking broken ?Hello, I’m having the same problem. I’m running WP 2.7.1 with theme Atahualpa. I’m going to keep checking back to see if you figure out anything. Or you can email me at jamiesdesigns@yahoo.com. The art gallery site that I’m running is at http://www.balartists.com.
Funny thing, my personal blog at http://www.jamiesdesigns.com also has the exact same theme and the same software installed. But it works on my website, I have a paged gallery at http://jamiesdesigns.com/wordpress/?p=483 and it works great.
Only difference between the two sites is that the WP install is in the root directory on the BAL site. (and I’m not going to move it! )
I hope that we find a fix.
– Jamie.

In reply to: GoDaddy WordPress Install w/ Disabled “mail() function”Thank you! I got my blog to email using this plugin, but I used the following settings on my godaddy shared windows server:
Step 1-8: just as windowsx.com posted
Step 9: select “no encryption”
Step 10: select No: Do not use SMTP authenticationDo not enter a username or password.
I guess this is a little less secure, but it worked for me. Thanks!
