And… I just figured it out. It just didn’t like the Preview – when I actually post it it works fine.

We gave up and reverted to a backup. Thanks for suggestions, everyone.
Yeah, comments are enabled. This is happening with all posts that had comments – one day you could see them, the next day you couldn’t.
