In reply to: Editing image with link to file no longer availableI have worked it out. Instead of clicking on Edit Image, as previously, when the image is highlighted, you need to click on the Link icon and then you can link the photo to a Media file and open it in a new tab. It would be useful if WordPress would alert bloggers of such changes in advance.

In reply to: Editing image with link to file no longer availableI can’t seem to copy a PrtSc on here. If you go to my previous blog post at https://jherring.wordpress.com/2019/07/09/malcolm-mackay-novel-and-peebles-revisited/ you will see that all images are linked to a file and they open in a new tab. This is what I want to do with the images on THIS post at https://jherring.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=10490&action=edit which I assume you can see. When I did the previous post, the EDIT icon above the photo was different.

In reply to: Making photos open in new tabHi Jack,
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to add target=”_blank” to the link. This is the HTML for the link:
[caption id="attachment_2828" align="alignnone" width="1024"]<img class=”wp-image-2828 size-full” src=”https://jherring.files.wordpress.com/2016/01/img_0043.jpg” alt=”IMG_0043″ width=”1024″ height=”683″ /> The London Eye on the Southbank[/caption]So where do I add target=”_blank” ? Also, do I have to do this with ALL future photos? Best wishes
James
