Since the sitemap is accessible via tools like httpstatus.io but Google Search Console still reports a “General HTTP Error,” it is likely an issue on Google’s side. Sometimes, GSC experiences temporary fetching errors that resolve on their own after some time.
We recommend resubmitting the sitemap after 24–48 hours, and monitoring the status or you may follow the following steps:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

3. Apply the following filter code to your site.add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

4. Remove all your sitemaps from your Google Search Console and re-submit only the index sitemap (https://website.com/sitemap_index.xml)

The error occurs because Rank Math’s Database Tools module is calling aget()method that doesn’t exist in the Top 10 plugin’s Activator class, which leads to the fatal error.
Since this originates from the way the Top 10 plugin defines its classes, we recommend reaching out to their support team so they can review and ensure compatibility. In the meantime, you may continue using your temporary workaround or deactivate one of the plugins to prevent the conflict.
