In reply to: [WP Super Cache] WP Super Cache conflict with WPtouchThat’s a known problem; WPtouch tells you how to fix it on their support site. You should check the compatibility tab for WPtouch. Basically, if you are using the Pro version of WPtouch, you have to turn off WPtouch support in Super Cache / plugins, and turn on mobile support in Advanced.

In reply to: [NoSpamNX] [Plugin: NoSpamNX] Marks Everyone as SpamI am seeing this, too, and I have had to remove this plugin from each of the blogs I maintain. It wasn’t letting any comments at all come through.

In reply to: Blank post with over 600 commentsOk, I got it. I had tried all of those memory suggestions(except I couldn’t find the php.ini) but nothing worked. So I dug deeper and found the php.ini and that did it. It was at 8M. No wonder the 640 comments weren’t loading!
Thanks.

In reply to: Removing the old version of the plugin failedI’d love to give more information to anybody who knows what information they’d need. This is very frustrating.
I have three different blogs. One of them I upgraded using the auto upgrade plugin and the other two I used fantastico. I’ll try (re)upgrading one by hand to see if that changes anything, but I can’t see how it would.

In reply to: Removing the old version of the plugin failedI have updated manually, but it’s not the plugin that’s failing. None of the plugins will update on any of three blogs.

In reply to: New Blogger import not workingOtto42 is right. Some hosts will make importing next to impossible. Sometimes you have to use wordpress.com as a go-between, but sometimes even that won’t work.
Two things I’d recommend after having gone through this: disable all plugins before importing (some will really scew it up – eg google mapping plugins). And if you’re having to stop and start, make sure it’s not just bloating your database (check via phpmyadmin).

In reply to: Italics to BoldSure enough, on the author’s website, he posits that em should be bold, not italic, so he puts that in every theme.
So that includes Barthelme (my theme) as well as PlainTxt, Simplr, and Sandbox.
FYI.
And I just deleted that line and it fixed it.
Thanks!

In reply to: Indexing the database?the host is blue host, and I’m seriously considering moving, after a series of bad experiences.
Currently, they’re hitting me with 3-4 suspensions per day for “high cpu load” or some such, and they’re telling me I should index my WP database.
I am using wp-cache, fyi. I had never heard of anyone indexing a WP database.
And I have optimized the tables through phpmyadmin, too.

In reply to: WP to WP freezingWell, that didn’t work. I tried uploading as xml and as txt, but either way I get a SQL error.
There seems to be an error in your SQL query
It seems I’m destined not to get this blog online.

In reply to: WP to WP freezingAnd that would get comments, too?

In reply to: WP to WP freezingThe WP export of a WP file is xml.
I don’t really know what the difference is and if you can just change it to a txt.
What would that method do with duplicates?
