For 1.: Please note, FTP worked fine to upload the files but the thumbnails would not show. I uploaded them in their album/gallery folders underneath photo-gallery. I’d recommend photo-gallery attempt to merge its overall media container to the same as media so if you post into media as upload can simply select images from media folder without importing. Not sure how it could be done – just an idea.
