In reply to: [iQ Block Country] Unknown robot draining site bandwidth – how to stop?Hi,
No the search engines option is only to allow search engines in case you blocked them. For instance if you block the USA you also block Google. If you block the USA and select Google on the search engine tab you will still block the traffic from the USA but allow Google anyway.
If you know the IP you can either blacklist that specific IP or lookup which country the IP belongs to and block the entire country.
Please note that this plugin only blocks traffic to pages handled by WordPress

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] Adwords does not allow iQ Block Country?Hi,
Did you select the various Google entries on the search engine tab?
There should be no issues with other regular plugins. I have not come across any at least.
If you encounter issues you can always whitelist localhost and your webhosting ip for instance.

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] blocked to admin link – how to temp disable?Hi,
You can remove the option_name called ‘blockcountry_blockbackend’ from your wordpress options table to gain access to the backend again.
Or you can ofcourse just remove the entire plugin in /wp-content/plugins/ via sftp.

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] Server blocked both sites (instead of 1)If you removed the plugin the plugin is not causing the problem.
You probably use some form of caching that caches the output for faster serving. This may have cached the blocked message.
This plugin does not block other websites than the one it is configured on. So that may also be a caching problem (faulty caching probably).
If you need further assistance please email. That is read / replied to faster than this support forum.

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] block one to all except one countryOn the frontend tab select Block visitors from visiting the frontend of your website
Select the countries you want to block.
On the categories tab select: Do you want to block individual categories
Do not select any categories.
On the pages tab select Do you want to block individual pages
And select the page(s) you want to block.
That should do the trick.

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] redirect not working@tony: Do you have an error message in your log? You may face the similar problem as Frank does

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] redirect not workingAnd I forgot.
The error is because you (or your webhosting company) has display_errors set to display all errors. Which is not a wise thing to do for a production site.

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] redirect not workingHi Frank,
In your case you probably cannot use the redirect as another plugin or your theme sends out headers before this plugin can.
You can try to deactivate and reactivate the plugin. The plugin will try to get first place but this may not always help.

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] SuggestionHi,
I am not entirely sure what you mean.
Blocking is ‘just done’. If a POST request is made it will block the request but other plugins may read the POST request as well and log the information.

Not sure, I would have to install bbpress first to see if and how they can be excluded.

For other people in this case all you need to do is remove the ‘blockcountry_blockbackend’ field from the options table. This will allow you back in.

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] Plugin search in wrong location after moving websiteHi,
From the FAQ:
I have moved my WordPress site to another host. Now iQ Block Country cannot find the GeoIP databases anymoreSomewhere in your WordPress database there is a wp_options table. In the wp_options table is an option_name called ‘upload_path’.
There probably is an (old) path set as option_value. If you know your way around MySQL (via PHPMyAdmin for instance) you can empty the option_value. This should fix your problem.
Please note that your wp_options table may be called differently depending on your installation choices.

In reply to: [iQ Block Country] Warning MessageHi,
Your PHP version may not have been build with IPv6 support while your site appears to be reachable over IPv6.
You may want to contact your hosting provider about this.
If this is a production site you also may want to disable the displaying of errors as all your visitors can see any PHP error that is thrown.
