You can now download a fully up-to-date version of the theme from http://spectacu.la/caribou-news-theme/
It is not on the WP.org repository as until we change our AJAX methods for our thumbnail picker it will be rejected. The approaches are perfectly safe, but WP.org will only approve certain approaches for new uploads.
In this case, the image is really designed as a place for logos, rather than for full width banners.
We’ve debated changing it over but these projects don’t pay our bills unless folk donate 🙂

Hi Mished – a very slow response, but we don’t check in here often.
The plugin should work just fine in all browsers. It could be that some styling or CSS in your theme is causing an issue.
