I’m sorry your configuration is not working with the plugin, it happens unfortunately. Reason can be your theme or another plugin.
I confirm with a fresh WordPress 4.1.1 / BuddyPress 2.2.1 and any WordPress default theme it’s working. Have you tried such a config ?

– i’m not trying to “compete” with premiums as it’s free an i get no money, it will never be as great as these 😉
– you can also contribute and fork/ pull request in the plugin’s github repo https://github.com/imath/rendez-vousA taxonomy for venue: i’m not sure today it can be anything a slack Channel, a website, a phone, a conférence room.. It’s not necessary geographical.
Booked time : this plugin is not an event manager or time manager, it simply tries to help people find a common time to meet. I think it will complexify the UI.

I’ll check the folder problem for Administrator and see if i can do something easier for point 3 (your code should work, i would use the ‘bp_moderate’ capability or maybe for admins bp_is_item_admin() because with ‘manage_options’ i doubt group admins can view the nav )
About point 2, i think, this topic https://wordpress.org/support/topic/document-sharing-options-only-show-choose-the-group is relative and i’ll work on it for 1.2.2

In reply to: [BuddyDrive] Linking to Buddydrive from main navigationI’m not sure it’s a BuddyDrive topic. But if you need to use some BuddyPress logged-in nav items, you can do it from the Menus Administration screen.
