@apljdi I used smart ftp to login to the server using my ftp credentials selected the folder wp-content and in its properties assigned it a 777 permission (it didnt do any thing new)
Then did the same again gave the same folder 755 permission and in apply to selected
“apply permission recursively
“, did the same later for the uploads folder.
@shane.G I tried with a new folder wp-content/files for upload path then tried to upload a plugin but it didnt work it started asking for the connection information.
Then, tried with the defualt wp-content/uploads folder as upload path, this time it returned the following error
Unable to create directory /var/www/vhosts/iamay.com/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2009/12. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
Now only thing left is that SSH thing what is that I ve no idea. 🙁

I tried with the 777 and 775 but nothing worked for wp-content and /upload (now files) :S
What do you mean by
our problem is with what the web server’s username has permission to do.
can you explain it a little breifly ??
