There’s a WP plugin that will follow the remote hosted URL’s of your images, places a copy of the picture in your local Media Library, and then attaches the Media image to your post. The end result is that all of your image thumbs now work in WordPress.
Search the plugin library for “Add Linked Images To Gallery” by Randy Hunt. It really saved me a lot of headaches!
I’ve also wasted an hour trying to get the ET Button to center. Anybody have any clues?

In reply to: How to update TimthumbNo, I never did. In fact, I’m basically deconstructing my MU sites back to individual sites. I’m having way too many problems with themes as well as with plugins that just don’t play well in the shared environment. Plus, I’ve got some serious performance issues that I haven’t been able to track down – I can’t prove anything but I suspect MU.
I’m not trying to knock MU. I’ve just realized that being able to use my “tried-and-true” themes and plugins is more important to me than combining all my sites in one place.

In reply to: WordPress MU Domain Mapping plugin – can’t map domainsWhew! I agree totally with Charybdis. I’ve been up nights trying to figure out why my domains are not mapping. The key is to set up an Add-on Domain that maps to the directory where the WP network is. I sure wish I had known that last week!
I just hope I remember it the next time I add a new site to my network!
