You can try that, but you will have to get a little more creative. IE make a new static front page and display a right hand sidebar etc etc.

Thant’s correct. What I did was downloaded a seperate blackbird theme from the internet and renamed it “bd” on the folder extracted folder. Then I uploaded it to the wordpress, so now I have two of the same themes, but one is modified without the footer and other stuff, real theme is disabled.

Yes, all you have to do is go to Appearances – Editor and click on footer. Here you need to delete everything EXCEPT this – <?php wp_footer(); ?>
