In reply to: [Embedly] Great plugin, but very slow supportEventually I discovered that the problem wasn’t with the plugin, but with the Astra theme. I tested Embedly with 3-4 other themes and everything works fine. There’s some conflict with Astra. So I’ve updated my rating to 5 stars, since the plugin does a great job, as I explain in my initial review. But they should try and do something about support, which finally answered to my ticket after nine days!

José I don’t think it’s another plugin, since I tested both times with the same ones activated. BTW, thanks a bunch for explaining how to implement your patch, worked like a charm.
Apart from that, I’m trying to find a way to disable the “Post in” dropdown menu when a user posts something on the activity stream. I find it confusing and I’d like the post to go by default wherever the user is. If he’s in his profile, post to his profile; if he is in a group page, post to the group’s page etc. I’m pretty sure there’s no plugin that does that, I’ve searched for hours. Could you tell me if this is something that could be done fairly easily by a coder or if it requires a lot of work?

When I first tested your plugin I had the mistaken impression that a visitor gained full control of a user’s profile and could change anything they liked or even delete the whole profile. That’s why I wrote “major security issue”. Fortunately I tested it again more carefully and realized my mistake.
Admonition is a pretty strong word and if I seemed that harsh, I apologise. As you can see I changed my rating and rewrote the review, just to be sure that it wouldn’t give the wrong impression to anyone. Your plugin is very good, I will use it, and I do appreciate all the work you guys do. No hard feelings I hope and keep up the good work!

In reply to: [Simple BuddyPress Profile Privacy] Security issueWell spotted Jose! Could you please tell me where I should paste your patch? I know almost nothing about coding, so I tried it in the bp-custom.php file but obviously that was a mistake because it gave errors.
PS. I don’t want to sound mean, I do appreciate everyone’s effort in providing free plugins, but don’t you think that 3 stars is way too generous and gives the wrong picture? This is a huge security issue for a social network and basically makes the plugin useless until it is fixed.
