I was able to get the purchase amounts recorded and displayed by unchecking the “This campaign is donations only (no rewards)” box. Donors now choose from set pledge levels instead of entering their own amounts. Now donations (Purchase Amounts) are being logged and displayed correctly.
This method did not fix the previous issue but achieves the functionality I needed.

Okay, Didn’t fix the problem but I got around it…
