  • Just discovered some additional info:

If instead of editing the alt tags in the media library:
    1) I go to “Back to the WordPress Editor” –
    2) then I right click on the image
    3) then click on the pencil to get box “Image Details”
Then I first find that the first field “Alternative Text” is populated
(but not with the update that I last put in for the image in Media Library – which I guess is it’s own separate issue??)

And under Advanced Options: “Image Title Attributes”, that field is empty. If I populate and save that field, then I will THEN get the alt text when hovering over image.

However, this is not a practical workable solution as it screws up my Elementor format when I save, as well as being a very time consuming fix.

I have same problem. A few of my alt tags show up on hover over image, most do not.

I have Title and Alt Text fields populated for all the images I’ve checked with problems (as well as caption and description) in the image in Media Library.

When I inspect code for page with image, I can find the alt text for those pics, but I am not a programmer and do not know enough to see if the display of alt tag on hover is somehow being suppressed in the code? And not sure what would cause that?

    Elementor 3.0.14
    Astra 2.6.1
