In reply to: [Wordpress Stock Images by grfx] Did not upload imagesLet me know if the problem persists after the most recent update.
It might be your environment — are you using grfx’s suggested hosts? Grfx requires some higher functionality for the image processor in particular, where your process might be crashing. Note the plugin page:
To ensure a proper environment, we recommend Bluehost or equivalent, since they allow all special functionality required for this plugin.

In reply to: [Wordpress Stock Images by grfx] GRFX breaks WooCommerce product tags? That is odd. I’m not sure I’ve ever witnessed that behavior before.
Before I jump in, may I ask if this behavior persists with the default wordpress themes and/or other themes?
The reason I ask is that I don’t recall making any alterations on the tagging system, although I could be forgetting something.

In reply to: [Wordpress Stock Images by grfx] Consider switching to product variations?Very good question, and yes, I might consider doing that.
The reason why we created it not to use product variations is because each variation is a new post. Since many stock photographers and illustrators have THOUSANDS of images (in some case, 10-20k images, no joke) that means every variation creates a new entry into the database. So if you have 10k images, then you have 40k entries (if you have for instance 4 standard options)
The most challenging part of offering stock image capabilities through wordpress to professional stock photographers is that when they start approaching 3k images noticeable performance decreases start showing up.
There is of course a way around this: To hack the tagging system, conserve in other areas, but in almost every instance its full of compromise to allow serious stock photographers to sell through this medium.
However your request is noted and I think it reflects what many people would like to do anyway. For those with large portfolios I’m creating a python-based solution anyway that scales to millions of images easily.
I can see clearly now! 😀
I did not consider such a feature would be needed, hence I never noticed when it disappeared (possibly due to the custom nature of the image product)
If you share your edit I can possibly include it in the next update so you don’t have to keep redoing it.
I’m glad everything is working for you.
I’m very glad you like it. So far your site is looking very good.
Regarding your first wish I’m a bit confused still. What exactly are you trying to achieve on the front page?
Regarding your title issue — would you mind sending me an image to leo [at] grfx.co so I can see what metadata field it is under? There are different areas — xmp, exif, etc. I’m going to build in a more thorough check of all these areas so that metadata is not missed.

In reply to: [Wordpress Stock Images by grfx] Did not upload imagesUsually this is caused by a missing php module responsible for encryption.
Your timing is good — I’m getting ready to turn out an update based on the last few support threads.
If you create an admin account for me leo [at] grfx.co I can see what sort of error is being produced in the ajax return.

In reply to: [Wordpress Stock Images by grfx] image titles and license not showing– There does seem to be an issue with the product-facing license from the last update. Thank you for showing me.
– In the product-edit, tags are added to the product as usual, but we do not interact with the image’s original metadata.
– Regarding your meta-data, I will have to personally inspect the process on your site. You may contact me leo [at] grfx.co
– From there I can do some inspection and see what I can update on the plugin’s side to broaden compatibility.

There is a huge amount of flexibility in the plugin, so all sites will look different based on the author’s talent.

In reply to: [Wordpress Stock Images by grfx] image titles and license not showingWhen you upload the image via the uploader – Products -> Upload it should definitely extract metadata (the title) as well as keywords and description in setting up your product. If you do it this way, you can mass-create products with automatic features.
There are rare cases where that does not happen due to the way a person might embed metadata (what program are you using to embed metadata?)
The license must be set in the settings area of grfx. Did you do that? If not, maybe we have a bug. Please verify that.
Your site is absolutely beautiful. Can’t wait to see it finished.
