In reply to: [Page Restrict] Mainly works, but run time errors.Hello…interested in learning about private_read. Where, how, what..etc?
Thanks for any info. I have a member driven site, producing a public showcase of a niche community, and for members there are help and how-to pages that the non-logged in users don’t need to see. Perhaps this is an answer?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How did Blog Archives take over my site?As suspected, when the two plugins, Directory and Classifieds are de-activated, the post archive disappears. Forums returns to normal. Reactivating one or both and the problem returns. Except now those plugins are not complete and most probably be deleted and then re-installed.
I have not modified these plugins for weeks. There was a bbPress update yesterday, but the forum was working shortly after that.
Time to rebuild again? That’s 4 months steady, 12 hours a day at least. Really!? So much for the Famous 5 Minute install. Ha, geez.
Any ideas out there? I’ll hold off for awhile before I wipe it out.
How can I keep the content and especially BuddyPress user data?
Thanks for any help.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How did Blog Archives take over my site?Shows the same in twenty 14.
If I deactivate plugins, of course it won’t show. Blog Archives are displayed on these plugins…bbPress (forums) Listings (a directory) and Classifieds..all are pluginsForum: Plugins

In reply to: Looking for some tips.Hello. I didn’t login but site looks pretty good. Only see one thing, and I recognized it because I did/do the same thing… I created a page Forum, but them the breadcrumb looks like Forum Forum myforum.
Not certain how to explain this but, I think these plugins often create their own pages. So I deleted my page, took it off the menu, and surprise! now the pagination or whatever reads Forum, my forum, etc.
Hope this helps.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Parent theme changes not in Child themeAlright, thanks. The last creation, when looked at it in firebug or googles editor, showed me css and html code locations in the parent theme. Where do I change these if not in the files that are referenced?
For instance, perhaps the padding was a little too much on an image, or a text reference needed to be re written.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [BePro Listings] Will not install – Fatal ErrorI’m using 3.8 and latest buddypress. I have optimized my database, and re-saved permalinks. @ http://www.saturdaynitelive.com
Have been trying to figure this out and this is what I see now on activation;Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /home/content/a/l/b/albertaevents/html/wp-content/plugins/bepro-listings/bepro_listings.php on line 360
which refers to flushing permalinks, as you have noted in your documents
“The issue revolves around pages not working on activation or they stop working during an update. This is because of an issue with wordpress permalinks. We have established new features in the plugin to flush permalinks during activation and upgrade. This has fixed the problem”would be nice to try your directory but, well…

In reply to: [Events Manager - Calendar, Bookings, Tickets, and more!] Can I import icalAs FB events is The most popular events calendar, I would strongly suggest adding a FB Api to your next build, for import and export, as an essential component for handling public events.
Import, because my friends don’t really want to rebuild all their events again, and export so they can still invite all their friends.
A common FB Login app permits access to users events, amongst other things, but an ics feed style importer works well too.

In reply to: [WP Super Cache] Settings reverting to PHP from mod_rewriteThis has happened to me too. I think it has something to do with garbage collection time.
