Thank you so much for your message. I will contact Siteground as I will not be able to do that without messing something up. I was hoping someone like me might be able to resolve it 🙂

Really appreciate you taking the time to reply 🙂

    Hello Eva

Thank you so much for your reply. I just checked the post slug in my wordpress admin area and it is under the post name that I changed to but the url when you reach the page via google is still the original post name.

I don’t actually remember changing or even inputting a post ‘slug’ to be honest. I will try what you have suggested and let you know how I get on if you don’t mind.

Thanks and have a nice weekend.

    Hello Anne

Thank you so much for your replies. Hopefully at some point in the future I will be able to help others.
I thought that I should place the posts on my website but couldn’t understand how to categorise them under the ‘blog category’. I tried to do this by clicking on the right hand side under the category option with my first post but nothing happened. I think I created ‘blog’ initially as a ‘page’and when I tried to categorise retrospectively, I couldn’t do it.
I wanted the category ‘blog’to appear at the top of the page but not worked out how to do that. As I add more posts over time I thought that this would be the best way going forward, but starting off with the generic category blog!
If you get time to answer would appreciate that and no rush 🙂 if you are busy thanks for your tips up to now.
    Regards
    Gordon

I have now added ‘blog’ to my site as a category and think I have worked it out but just need to work out how to tidy it up and gradually make the site look better. Any comments are really appreciated though 🙂

    Hello Anne

Very kind of you to offer to help and it’s much appreciated. I have now deleted the page ‘blog’ and think possibly because it’s a page that was the reason why I couldn’t put posts in there.
I did make an extra category for blog originally as I had seen on other blogs how you could click on ‘blog’ and then the different posts would show and be clickable but gave up when I couldn’t work it out and reverted to the action I took which I explained in the first paragraph.
I would still be grateful if you have any ideas but I accept I am still learning and know very little about wordpress, but hey it’s a journey and what I find difficult now, I will hopefully find easy in six months or a years time!
I am now having issues with uploading a featured post and the way it sits on the page and how to position it and how to get clear photos on my blog. I have changed the header image for the site and also used the same image as a featured image in my only post.
Please let me know what you think if you have time and I assume I will have to use plug ins to place photos and text where I want. I will get there….and thank you so much for your reply. The website (it’s still a baby) is http://www.clumsytraveler.com

    Hello and thanks

I will have to try and find that as I cannot see that anywhere. I have since deleted my about page and started again and the same thing is happening and I cannot see anywhere in the wp admin area where you can format the font style and size.

I am probably missing something but if you can help it’s much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Gordon

    Hello Ross
Many thanks for your reply. I think I will take your initial advice as I am a complete novice and am learning from you tube videos etc.
I am sure there are easier ways of building a website but I fancy ‘having a go’.
Once again thank you and I am sure I will be asking further questions, some perhaps ridiculously simple, but it’s a little challenge for me!
