It might be our caching, but I’m pretty sure search results aren’t cached.

Yes I do – I’ve done a custom synonym for llamas=llama. In admin searches it works, but it’s not returning the same posts on the frontend.
I’ll have a look at the other plugins, but we have no other search ones installed.
